In May of 2010, just days after Hannah’s graduation from Michigan Tech, we caught a plane San Diego, CA and then a series of buses and trains to small town of Campo on the US/Mexican border. We intended to hike north and not stop until we reached Canada, some 2,600 miles away. Over the next 56 days and 1,000 miles we slowly came to the realization that the hike wasn’t the adventure we wanted to be on. We each had our own reasons but we came to the agreement that we would rather head home and focus our energies and attention on other endeavors. We loved the PCT and couldn’t just walk away and leave the dream to fade into nothing so we agreed that rather than outright quit we will go back and finish the trail in sections.
We covered nearly half of the trail and had an amazing time on the trail seeing landscapes, meeting people and having experiences that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. We took tons of photos and kept journals everyday to help document and share our adventure.
We hope you enjoy reading about our adventure and seeing the photos we took. If you have questions or if there is some info you would like to see here please feel free to get a hold of us.
